Marketing and branding strategist Mark Glickman works with some of the world’s leading resort developments, destinations, management companies and nonprofits on branding, publicity, special events, sustainability and driving revenue.  Selected as one of the 'Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing' by the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), Glickman is the author of Marketing Paradise and a frequent speaker on green marketing and crisis management.

Glickman's experience worldwide includes Director of Marketing and Sales at Hawaii's Mauna Lani Resort, Mexico's El Cid Resorts, Wintergreen Resort and Intrawest's Snowshoe Resort. He has successfully led marketing and sales teams in creating solid, strategic marketing and sales plans that produce memorable brand image, publicity and special events, resulting in incremental revenue for world-class companies.

Glickman is widely credited with changing the face of tourism in Virginia by founding both the Golf Virginia Resorts Association and the Ski Virginia Association. He served as President of both associations and testified to Virginias General Assembly on behalf of the tourism industry on the benefits of public-private partnerships. 

He has conceived and coordinated special events such as Hawaii's Ironman Triathlon, the New York City Marathon, the World Mountain Bike Championships and Mazatlan Billfish Tournament in Mazatlan, Mexico and the Tour du Pont and Tour du Trump cycling events.

 

Through his innovative special events, he has also helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years for charities such as the Sunshine Foundation and the Special Olympics.

 

When it comes to ‘Green Marketing’, Glickman has a ‘Green Thumb’ …and a proven track record!  He has been instrumental in helping resorts, real estate developments and other businesses become better stewards of their environment by implementing green programs that become part of their ‘brand’ fabric. Glickman was featured on Travel Channel’s ‘Extreme Green’ program and is frequently quoted in major national and international media outlets on green marketing. Glickman collaborated with Virginia Tourism Corporation to help develop Virginia Green, Virginia’s successful program to encourage green practices in all sectors of that state’s tourism industry.


Glickman is currently consulting with Mazatlan's Estrella del Mar on a re-branding and digital marketing campaign as well as working on the marketing committee of the Mazatlan Hotel Association.
